Stephen Darke was a Managing Director of Macquarie Group Limited, where he spent 24 years working in both its Asset Management and Investment Banking Groups globally, before leaving Macquarie in July 2022 to establish Arch.

During his time at Macquarie, he sourced, diligenced, established, and invested in, innovative alternative strategies; presented global strategy, corporate development and innovation initiatives; developed new investment strategies and funds, and executed structured finance and leasing transactions globally.

He was based in New York, Sydney and London.

Stephen co-managed the Sass-Macquarie Financial Strategies from 2006 to 2022 — a successful New York-based private equity fund that incubated 11 asset managers, including the establishment of Waterfall Asset Management, Hightower Advisors, Taurus Funds Management, and AMERRA Capital.

Prior to Macquarie, he was a banking and finance attorney for Allens Linklaters in Sydney.

Stephen graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University.
